Cookie Policy
Which cookies and browser storage the site uses, and how to control them.
Version of October 10, 2026
1. What they are
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) works in a similar way. Below is everything qeruen.com stores.
2. Necessary — always on
Without them the site cannot remember your settings. They contain nothing about you and are not sent anywhere.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent (localStorage) | Your choice in the cookie banner | Until you clear site data |
| theme (localStorage) | Light or dark theme | Until you clear site data |
| viewed:… (sessionStorage) | So one article view is not counted twice | Until the tab is closed |
3. Analytics — only with your consent
Set only if you click “Accept”. If you click “Decline”, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor from another (no name or contact details) | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps session state | 2 years |
4. For editorial staff
Signing in to the site’s admin panel sets an authentication cookie (payload-token) and a draft-preview cookie (__prerender_bypass). Readers never get them.
5. Managing cookies
To change your choice, clear qeruen.com’s site data in your browser settings — the banner will appear again. You can also block cookies entirely: the site keeps working but will not remember your theme or choice.
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
